Da Heist is a Miami based artist of Dominican decent, born in the Caribbean December 17, 1986. At the age of 5 his family migrated to Miami, FL to a tight knit town called Allapattah. Growing up he describe music as a crucial tool in his adaptation to a new culture and langu­age. At the age of 10 his father bought him a recordable karaoke player which led to the development of his incredible improvisational skills (freestyling).When he was 12 the tragic death of his best friend Jeffrey (Duke) Strickland inspired his first ever composition. He carried and honed his skills all throughout his adolescence. But it wasn't until his senior year in high school that he and his friends decided to form a collective of artist consisting of rappers, producers, designers and DJ's known as Haze Fam Inc. in 2006.
      Da Heist released his debut mix-tape "Deep South" hosted by "City Official" (formerly known as Scamz). Since then he has been featured on various Haze Fam projects such as "Haze Mix Vol. 1" in 2015 hosted by StrongArm Radio's Dj Got Now and was featured on the single "Issues" produced by Haze Fam in-house producer/engineer Kiko Haze and Edsclusive who also produced the smash single "All The Way Up" by Fat Joe & Remy Ma. The single also features Maybach Music Group's Young Breed and Jay Guira.


       Da Heist has also worked with artists such as Billy Blue, Kent Jones, Cool & Dre, Young Breed and many other up and coming artists. He has performed in various venues throughout South Florida such as L' Boulevard Cafe, Mekka, and Will Call to name a few and most recently opened for the legendary Wu-Tang member Raekwon on The Wild Tour in Churchill's Pub. Focused on expanding the his brand and redefining what it is to be an artist from "The South", Da Heist is deter­mined to give us an introspective look into Miami's sub­culture. Before releasing the highly anticipated solo project, "Down South Poet" (D.S.P), he delivers a variety of vibes and bars on "Wreck-It Ralph" Da Mixtape.
